In this lecture I talk about picking your fleece as the first step of processing it for spinning. Picking a fleece is about picking out staple by staple from a fleece to detangle, bring in air and bring out stuff you don't want. It is also the perfect opportunity to get to know the characteristics and behaviour of the individual fleece. The picking phase is also a time to decide if you want to sort the fleece into categories like colour, staple length, staple type, quality or fiber type. When I have finished picking my fleece I have made the perfect gift for myself in the upcoming steps of the preparation.
